IT is almost a week or two since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine erupted since soldiers from the Russian Federation enter the territories of Ukraine resulting in casualties.
Damaged properties and destroyed infrastructures also can be seen all around along with thousands fleeing to get out of the country from fears of getting caught in the middle of the crossfire.
No one wins in war, the international community imposed sanctions on Russia and businesses in Russia also are moving out due to fear of an impending war.
It is necessary to resolve the issues between the two countries through peaceful and diplomatic solutions so as not to aggravate the situation as the international community advises particularly those countries that doesn’t support the war efforts of the west.
Diplomacy and dialogue is the solution to any conflict even though some attempts fails due to the absence of party leaders in the negotiating table.
The clamor for peace among countries is deemed necessary right now and the world is fed up with two world wars and can’t afford to have a third because no one wins in war.
The interest of peace needs to persist amid personal and business interest of entities that supports the war efforts of the west which in reality will not benefit anyone.
Peace still has to persist in spite of the double standard perception of the western media and its governments in relation to the ongoing plight of the Palestinian People versus Israel, the Rohingya people versus Myanmar and the Uyghurs of China.
Civilized people do not engage in violence but in reality the casualties in Ukraine is very minimal to those of Palestine by Israel, to the Rohingya by the Myanmar junta and to the Uyghurs by the Chinese government.
Taking from the lyrics of Michael Jackson’s Heal the World “there are ways to get there if you care enough for the living…”, there are people dying if you care enough for the living make a better space to make a better place”
President Putin of Russia in an interview with Russian media says that he doesn’t want countries around Russia to join the NATO for it is according to him a terrorist organization, be that as it may, he’ shouldn’t resort to violent engagement instead as civilized people he tried diplomacy.///MJ Olvina-Balaguer, 09053611058, koekted@dzmjonline.net and maryjaneolvina@gmail.com DZMJ ONLINE MAKABULUHANG JORNALISMO YOUR HAPPINESS CHANNEL
