China Energy International Engineering Co., Ltd. and ISOC Energy of the Philippines recently signed an EPC Contract Agreement for a 1GW Floating Solar Project in Laguna Lake, Philippines. The project is deemed as an effort to bolster the clean energy growth in the Philippines, helping the country’s transition to a green energy system.
The project is located in Laguna Lake, Luzon Island, the largest lake in the Philippines and close to the capital, Manila. The scope of work includes the design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of a 1GW floating solar power plant. According to the Philippine Energy Plan, the proportion of renewable energy in the Philippines will increase to 35% in 2030 and 50% in 2040. As one of the world’s leading providers of energy and power infrastructure solutions, CEEC has maintained a positive tie with the Philippines’ renewable energy market, including floating solar. The project will be the first large-scale floating solar power plant in the Philippines, which will further increase the share of renewable energy in power generation as a sustainable way to meet its social and economic needs.
