Kaliwa Dam Project Participates in River Dredging Activity in the Philippines

“Dredging work may not be the most laborious, but it is certainly the dirtiest. In the beginning, it didn’t seem like much, but it turned out to be quite a lot to clean up. However, the thought of cleaning the river and providing a safer and healthier living environment for residents, gives us the momentum to power through,” said project staff Chen Danyue.

On June 11, employees from China and the Philippines at the Kaliwa Dam Project, constructed by China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd.,  participated in a river dredging activity in the Dalig River organized by the municipal government of Teresa, the Province of Rizal, the Philippines.

The employees assisted in cleaning the river environment, maintaining river channels, reducing flood risks, and ensuring the safety and water quality of Teresa during the flood season. The enthusiastic volunteers in ‘CEEC blue’ from China and the Philippines rolled up their sleeves and trousers, working along the banks of the river, at drainage nets, and other places, creating a lively scene. With rakes, buckets, and other tools, they diligently cleaned up garbage, accumulated silt, weeds, and floating debris from the river and drainage nets.

In this dredging activity, the volunteer team from the Kaliwa Dam Project cleaned up the area along the Dalig River, dredging a length of nearly 300 meters and removing over 300 kilograms of various types of garbage. In the future, Energy China will continue to adhere to the concept of sustainable development, maintaining the local ecological environment and working together to build a beautiful home.
