BBM’s PARTY ROLLS OUT ‘BEST BET’ STRATEGY FOR OFWs

Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the party of Presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. on Tuesday launched a long-term plan that aims to uplift the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Filipino migrants situated all over the world.

The PFP-OFW International Affairs Committee headed by its Chairperson Ms. Saidah Tabao Pukunum through its President, Mr. Jeremy Henry Amar, and Secretary-General Atty. Henry Capela presented the Strategic Plan Vision 2028 for OFW to PFP Secretary-General Tom Lantion and PFP General Counsel Atty. George Briones in a closed-door meeting at the PFP’s Manila office.

The Committee was created to promote and recognize the role of OFWs as a crucial sector in Philippine society and implement programs that are aligned with the vision of the party’s standard-bearer Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr.

The Committee also noted the myriad challenges facing OFWs. OFWs are often employed in poor working conditions, suffer from separation anxiety due to prolonged periods away from their family, and sacrifice their time supposedly spent with their family just to be able to provide for them.

The Committee aims to implement the policy framework in three (3) phases and is expected to create and develop programs for six years.

The plan also calls for the creation of a task force that will conduct studies and research to come up with policy recommendations for the national government. It will also evaluate and review the existing policies of government agencies to enhance service efficiency.

The core programs include: skills retraining in close coordination with TESDA, creation of comprehensive benefits and retirement plan, the establishment of an OFW hospital, health insurance, scholarship grants for OFWs,  legal, mental and psychological support services, creation of OFW cooperatives, the establishment of an OFW Bank and strengthening of community-based fellowship programs.

PFP General Counsel Atty. George Briones lauded the Committee’s effort to come up with a comprehensive policy framework that complements with Marcos’ unifying brand of leadership.

He reminded the members of the Committee that the PFP is a party that prides itself as a party of the common man. He added that the PFP will carry Marcos to victory in the upcoming 2022 polls.

“The PFP is a party of the common man.  A party of the poor.  A party of the grassroots.  This is the party that will carry  Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to victory, ” Briones said.-##-

BBM: PH must be ready for the recovery of global economy

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. said comprehensive planning must be done for the country to be ready as the global economy is now starting to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer said the decision of the Australian government to lift the anti-dumping measure on Philippine pineapple canned products shows that the global economy is starting to recover.

Marcos said this is a good development not only in the agriculture sector but also to the other sectors of the country as it proves that it can also make and strengthen its position in the global economy.

Marcos said such a plan is included in his “Tawid COVID, Beyond COVID” program which aims to provide measures and strategies on how the Filipinos and the Philippine economy can improve their lives while in the midst of pandemic and even beyond it.

His plan involves strategies to address and give solutions to the problems of different sectors such as agriculture, energy, telecommunication, infrastructure, education, health and many others.

“Una nating kailangan magawa ay tawirin itong COVID, dapat makalabas tayo at masabing nasa likod na natin ito. Hindi masabi na mawawala ‘yan pero dapat ma-manage na natin kung makita natin sa ibang bansa umabot na sila sa ganyan,” he said.

“Lahat yan ay kailangan gawin para makasabay tayo sa development ng global economy,” Marcos said.
