MANILA, PHILIPPINES-PRESIDENT Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr says that no job order employees of the government will be retrenched and that their contracts should be renewed if expires.

A clear indication that this administration cares for the welfare of the working class, that being the reason behind today (May 31 2024) the seven job order employees of the commission on the Filipino Language handling the programs for the Filipino Sign language staged a peaceful protest in this city particularly at the Liwasang Bonifacio.

The mass action spearheaded by the Philippine Federation of the Deaf, advocates of sign language propagation, members of the press and concern employees from the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino outcries their disgust over the retrenchment of the seven job order employees from the Filipino Sign Language unit of the commission.

Recently the Deaf community and other advocates had a zoom meeting to discuss the details of the issue and what other advocates feel about it. Interpreters and deaf stakeholders hold their peace until the staging of the peaceful protest commenced.

We tried to get the side of the commissioners responsible for the retrenchment of the seven employees but until this article is being written we receive no answers but if they give their side in the future we will likewise publish them in this website.
