Vitalizing  Trade Relations Between Philippines and Malaysia

Makati City-  As part of the programs lined up for the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Philippines and Malaysia. Through the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation in Manila or MATRADE Manila of the Embassy of Malaysia  organized a press conference in the Embassy last June 6, 2024.

Philippines Considering as 16th largest trading partner of Malaysia  from January to December 2024 a total trade were valued at USD 7.91 Billion. Meanwhile the Philippines were also ranked as Malaysia’s 15th largest export destination valued of USD 7.9 Billion. 

“The mission  on Franchise will be held from June 23-26, 2024 in Manila and we are targeting a total of 10 Malaysian franchisors to participate in the event. Under this mission, the programmes that will be arranged for the Malaysian companies include one to one business matching, launching of the specialized business mission, engagements with Malaysian and Philippine franchisors who are already established here and networking sessions with relevant government departments, associations and industry players” said MATRADE Manila Trade Commissioner Intan Zalani.

For Malaysia’s Iconic halal event and for the entire Islamic lifestyles demands on the premier trade platforms for halal industry players the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) which be held from September 17-20 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.

Mr Mohd Fareed Zakaria, the Deputy Chief of Mission highlighted the Embassy’s participation in Mindanao ICT Cluster Conference. The MINDACON 2024 scheduled from June 27 to 29, 2024 at Zamboanga. Lead organizer from National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) with collaboration of the Mindanao Development Authority (MINDA) Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). The keynote speaker will be the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino. With the support of the Malaysia leading government agency in digital economy the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). 

Weida Philippines also shared their business journey in the country. Other upcoming huge  event id the Malaysia’s Human Resoure Development Corporation (HRD Corp) on the upoming National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE) 2024 on September 30 to October 2, 2024 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in kuala Lumpur and its guest of honor is Y. A. B Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.
