City of Malolos, DepEd’s National Literacy Awards Top 5 Contender

The Department of Education has chosen the City of Malolos as Top 5 contender for its National Literacy Awards (NLA), the officials of the education department as well both in the national and region came to the city hall graced by non other than the City Mayor Atty. Christian D. Natividad and Vice Mayor Miguel Alberto T. Bautista.

In his speech, Natividad says that if above the Earth, satellites sees the Great Wall of China as the only Man made structure visible from space he envisions in the future a Great Wall of mangrove in the city’s coasts by satellite as a testament of the city’s climate change resilience.

“Food for hungry mind” he also says that education filled the void by which seeing before and after scenarios in terms of molding the minds of the youth turning them from a fan of street thugs to school goers “Why we are here dahil takot kami na kainin ang Malolos ng kamangmangan at mapag iwanan. We are doing it out of fear and we are doing it out of dream. We share a Dream. We share opportunities to go on and dream. Giving justice sa pangarap natin. Pangarapin natin lahat ng Bata ay matalino sa lungsod ng Malolos”

in all 9 categories coming from component cities all over the country the city of Malolos is at Top 5 contender according to one of the judges Ms. Christina Gonzales, Education Consultant.
