Quezon City- On the First Day of the Month August 1, 2024 Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa Tagalog for National Language Month, referred as Buwan ng Wika (Language Month), is a month-long annual observance in the country held every August to promote the national language Filipino.
On the First Salvo at Quezon City Experience (QCX), Quezon Memorial Circle The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), spearheaded the program with the theme ” Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya ” On the Welcome Remark of Carminda Arevalo, Executive Director of National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) follow by the Chairperson message of Commission on the Filipino Language (KWF) Arthur Casanova next is the message of Commissioner Benjamin Mendilllo Jr ” Nagpapasalamat po kami sampu ng aking mga kasamahang komisyuner, mga puno at kawani ng KWF na maisagawa nating sabay ang paggunita ng Buwan ng Wikang pambansa, Buwan ng Kasaysayan, at Anibersaryong Kamatayan ni Pangulong Manuel L Quezon, Bawat isa sa ating mga lingkod-bayan ng NHCP, Pamahalaang Lungsod Quezon, at KWF ay instrumento sa lalong ipagtataguyod ng wikang at kasaysayan sa lahat ng lugar na may pagkakataong maipagmalaki natin ang yaman nito” Mendillo expressed.
Representative from Quezon Family is the Grandson Emilio Quezon Avancena because his grandfather name is often mentioned during the month of August, not only he was born in August but more so he is considered the “Father of the National Language” or the “Ama ng Wikang Pambansa.”
Except from the message of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr “Ang okasyong ito ay nagsisilbing mahalagang paalala sa atin na mahalin ang wikang Filipino nang bukal sa ating puso at nanggagaling sa kamalayan na ang mga wikang minana ay nagtatanghal ng ating kahanga-hangang pagkakakilanlan bilang isang lipi (This occasion serves as an important reminder to us to wholeheartedly love the Filipino language and comes from the awareness that our inherited languages present our wonderful identity as a people)”
