Malaysian Embassy, NDC and Digital Pilipinas collab on investing In Technology and Innovation in ASEAN

Makati City- Digital Economy are fastest way of investment especially in Digital transformation and Halal in Malaysia. A networking seminar hosted by Malaysian Embassy in collaboration with Digital Pilipinas and National Development Company ( NDC) held in Malaysian Embassy in Manila last January 29, 2024 with stakeholders.

Malaysian Ambassador H.E Dato Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, Amor Maclang of Digital Pilipinas Convenor and Usec Antonilo DC. Mauricio, General Manager of NDC with program entitled “Investing in Technology & Innovation in ASEAN”.

Aimed to promote and encourage investment in tech and innovation in both Malaysia and Philippines. There was joined by various Philippine tech-based companies, as well as Malaysian companies in the country. Present are : Raj Ramasamy, CRO of Maybank, Marlon Sorongon of Maybank and Alan Cheah, Country Manager of Carsome are digital platform of buy and sell of use car largest in the Asia were also part of the panel speakers discussing tech investment in the country during the event.

Some of the stakeholders present are Michael Balaguer of Diaryong Tagalog,Reynaldo Cabansang of House of Representative, Azhar Mahmood of MCCI and Berjaya Hotel, Atty Marlon Valderama of Lex Meet, Jen Liang of ID meta, Elvis Tang of NuPON,

Eric Yam of Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( MCCI) share insight of Halal and the business matching are more effective in government if they gave incentive the new technology and embrace the change. Sharing some challenges on Digital economy is Calvin Woo Yoong, Director my digital corporation based in Malaysia through virtual conference.

Ambassador Castelino message that Philippines is like my home and He is working out to bring more investment of Malaysian Company in the country as shared priority and embrace opportunities in Digital Economy. Also Amor Maclang shared in Malaysian as top E Sport in Whole Asia had an E Sport Department and most employee are Filipino game developer. Which our country don’t have.

On a personal point of view of Usec GM Mauricio stated that more productive way and a win win situation is to put up defacto informal highway connecting Sabah and Mindanao not just for tourism but for trade.
