UAE Ambassador Inaugurates ‘UAE Corner’ at San Sebastian College-Recoletos Library

His Excellency Mohamed Obaid Alqattam Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines, inaugurated the ‘UAE Corner’ at San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R) Library in Manila, marking another milestone in UAE- Philippines cultural cooperation.

The initiative supports the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the two countries, which was witnessed by Her Excellency First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in November 2024, and underscores the UAE`s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

His Excellency Al Zaabi said: “The UAE corner symbolizes a bridge of friendship between the UAE and the Philippines – where cultural and shared values connect our people.”  

His Excellency also highlighted the UAE’s commitment to knowledge and cultural-exchange through multiple initiatives, such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and Sharjah’s recognition as the UNESCO World Book Capital in 2019.

The ‘UAE Corner’ at SSC-R will provide students with resources on UAE culture and history, reaffirming the growing partnership between the UAE and the Philippines, which has developed over more than five decades.
