A groundbreaking step towards enhancing the business landscape in the Philippines. MCCI co-organized an event with the theme: Ease of Doing Business – Taxation and Investment in the Philippines with Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines, Singapore Philippines Association, Foreign Business Council of the Philippines gathering 120 attendees last November 8, 2023 at Dusit Thani Manila

MCCI Chairman Edward Ling stated in his welcoming message that he is thrilled to announce the collaborative effort to enhance the business landscape through an inclusive approach that involves the active participation of foreign chambers especially Taiwan and Singapore. “This initiative is a significant step forward in our collective mission to boost the country’s ranking for EODB.”

The event was attended by Malaysian Ambassador Dato’ Malik Melvin Castelino, Singapore Ambassador Constance See, Representative Wallace Chow of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Chairman Silvestro Bello III of MECO, and Consul General Philip Chien.

Keynote speakers were Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr., Asst. Commissioner Janette Cruz, Director General Ernesto V. Perez of Anti-Red Tape Authority, Deputy Director General Vivian Santos of Philippine Economic Zone Authority, and with presentation from QNE Software Philippines.

It is evident that collaboration and innovation are key to achieving our common goal of enhancing the business landscape in the Philippines. As an entrepreneur, I firmly believe that by working together and leveraging the strengths of both local and international partners, we can create a more conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

I encourage all stakeholders, from government officials to business leaders, to continue this dialogue and translate our discussions into concrete actions. The Philippines and the ASIAN region hold immense potential, and with determination, we can further unlock opportunities for growth, investment, and prosperity.
