Manila Philippines -Dragon Boat Festival Dinner Celebration at Century Seafood Restaurant last June 10, 2024 co-organized with Singapore Philippines Association, Inc.
Celebrating unity and tradition at the Dragon Boat Festival Celebration Dinner hosted by the Singapore Philippines Association (SPA) President Andrew Koh with wife Jewel Koh and Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industries Philippines (MCCI) Chairman Edward Ling.

Distinguished guests including His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Malik Melvin Castelino (Malaysia), Her Excellency Ambassador Constance See (Singapore), Representative Wallace Chow (Taiwan), Anti Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Director General Ernesto V. Perez and wife Ma. Lucila Perez , Consul General Philip Chien, Former Central Bank Governor and Chairman of Cultural Center the Philippines Jaime Laya.

As the feast on dumplings, they also celebrate the richness of friendship and heritage. Also present were Businessman David Wang, Executive Director of Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated Inc (FFCCCII) Dr Lily Lim, Peerless Product Manufacturing Corp President and CEO Simeon C Tiu, Businessman Mandy Po, Etiqa President and Chief Executive Rico T Bautista, Boracay Adventure Director for Sales Linna Chong.

The holiday commemorates Qu Yuan who was the beloved prime minister of the southern Chinese state of Chu during the Warring States Period, about 600 B.C. to 200 B.C., and is celebrated by holding dragon boat races and eating sticky rice dumplings called zongzi, which were southern Chinese traditions. Dragon Boat Festival integrates praying for good luck and taking respite from the summer heat.

Everyone received zongzi its a type of rice cake made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo. On the coming year 2025 the Dragon Boat Festival will be May 31
