
MANILA, Philippines – The Embassy of Vietnam in Manila officially inaugurated a cultural exhibition titled “Colors of Vietnam” on March 25, marking a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Philippines. The exhibition, held at the embassy premises, commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations and is part of a year-long series of activities planned for 2026 to celebrate this half-century of bilateral ties.
Welcoming guests to the event were His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Lai Thai Binh and his spouse, Madam Thuy Ng.
The “Colors of Vietnam” exhibit showcases a vibrant collection of photographs that encapsulate the diverse landscapes, daily life, and rich communities of Vietnam. These captivating works were generously contributed by esteemed members of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Photography, including talents such as Vu Duy Bội, Nguyễn Tiến Quảng, Trần Cao Báo Long, Ngô Thị Hồng Loan, Hoàng Thế Nhiệm, Nguyễn Văn Tâm, Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, and Vũ Bích Hà.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Dr. Lai Thai Binh underscored the profound importance of cultural exchange in fostering stronger bonds and deeper understanding between Vietnam and the Philippines.
The inauguration was graced by a distinguished array of guests, including former Foreign Affairs Secretary Delia Domingo Albert, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) spokesperson Angelica C. Escalona, and Assistant Secretary for Asian and Pacific Affairs Marshall Louis Alferez. Also in attendance were members of the diplomatic corps, including Apostolic Nuncio Dean of Ambassadors Charles Brown, H.E. Malaysian Ambassador Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino,H.E. Thailand Ambassador Makawadee Sumitmor, H.E. Singapore Ambassador Constance See, Victoria Hesti Dewayani Indonesia Deputy Chief of Mission,H.E.Russian Ambassador Marat I. Pavlov and H.E.Poland Ambassador Katarzyna Wilkowiecka and Malaysian Counsellor / Head of Chancery Nur Farahliza Putri Naaim Yazid.
The event also saw participation from the business community, media, and students, highlighting the broad interest in strengthening the ties between the two countries.
