QUEZON CITY, Philippines — September 8, 2026 — The Fraternal Order of Eagles “Yakap” (Philippine Eagles) • The Original Order • has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the reputation, dignity, and lawful rights of its bona fide members as it pursues appropriate legal remedies against alleged defamatory statements circulated through digital and social media platforms.
As part of the ongoing legal proceedings, a man identified by the initials A.P. was arrested on September 6, 2026, in Quezon City, pursuant to a warrant of arrest reportedly issued by a Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Quezon City in connection with a Cyber Libel case.
As of September 8, 2026, A.P. remains in custody following the implementation of the warrant. The case remains subject to the appropriate judicial proceedings and the rights of the accused under the law remain fully applicable.
The development highlights the legal responsibilities that accompany the use of social media and other digital platforms. Online posts, publications, accusations, and other forms of communication may have legal consequences when they allegedly cross the boundaries established by law.
The Original Order said that it respects legitimate criticism, discussion, and the exercise of lawful rights to express opinions. At the same time, it emphasized that the deliberate publication or dissemination of statements alleged to be false and defamatory may be addressed through appropriate legal channels.
The organization stressed that its response to what it considers malicious or damaging narratives will not be through threats or retaliation, but through evidence, due process, and the rule of law.
“Truth, accountability, and lawful processes must prevail,” the organization said, emphasizing that those who publish statements online must understand that digital platforms do not place individuals beyond the reach of existing laws.
The Philippine Eagles “Yakap” further called on its members and the public to exercise responsibility and prudence when sharing information online, particularly material involving individuals, organizations, and allegations that may affect their reputation or standing.
Rather than engaging in personal attacks or escalating disputes through social media, The Original Order said it will allow competent authorities and the courts to determine the facts and resolve matters in accordance with established legal procedures.
The organization likewise maintained that where sufficient evidence exists, appropriate remedies will be pursued before the proper authorities and courts.
“We do not believe in threats. We believe in lawful action, accountability, and due process.”
The organization said the ongoing case should serve as a reminder that words published online may carry consequences and that accountability extends to digital communications.
The Original Order reaffirmed that it will continue to uphold its principles of truth, integrity, brotherhood, service, and lawful accountability, while allowing the judicial process to take its course.
The law, the facts, and due process will speak for themselves.
