The Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Textile Research Institute is holding an innovative competition part of the departments’ National Youth, Science,Technology and Innovation Festival. The competition aimed to forge deeper understanding and appreciation of textiles and the sciences among the youth, a platform for young talents to showcase the merger of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary science and technology with emphasis on the importance to innovation in the Philippine Textile development.

The activity will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center October 26, 2023 at 1:30 in the afternoon. Expected to attend are DOST-PTRI Director Dr. Julius L. Leano Jr., who will grace the opening ceremonies including the national anthem, invocation and the opening remarks;

Ms. Jenneli E. Caya of the DOST PTRI OIC Research and Development Division on the SAFATOS project Background; Maco Custodio a Shoe Designer, partner testimony and a launch of a P-Pop group at Telambassadors a signing of a Memorandum of Agreement.

P-Pop group opening performance and messages of support from Representative Christopher Toff De Venecia, the Chairperson of the House Committee on Creative Industries.
