Living Heritage Creativity and Nature is Dayaw 2023

MORE or less 225 Indigenous Cultural Communities coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will flock today October 20 2023 both at the Aroceros park near the Light Railway Transit Central station adjacent to the historic Metropolitan theatre to participate in the annual convergence of Culture and Heritage.

With the theme Living Heritage: Creativity and Nature, the groups will showcase their culture through visual arts, dance, poetry etc and also their craftsmanship as they would display their products that are truly world class in nature.

Further this annual activity now spearheaded by both the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, National Commission for the Indigenous Peoples and the National Commission for Muslim Filipinos is an important event that highlighted the importance of our heritage as all of us are indigenous in this country.

the Indigenous People’s Month Celebration this OCTOBER 20 to 21, 2023 to be held at the Metropolitan Theater and Aroceros Park from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The National Indigenous People’s Month Celebration is celebrated every month of October as per Presidential Proclamation No. 1906 in 2009 that mandates the “recognition and protection of the rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs)/IPs.

This year’s theme is “Buháy na Dunong: Pagkamalikhain at Kalikasan” (Living Heritage: Creativity and Nature)”, which highlights how both the creativity of the IP and the richness of nature sustain intangible cultural heritage.
