Enhanced Philhealth Z Benefits for Breast Cancer from Php. 100 thousand to Php. 1.4 million

Pasig City- During the PhilHealth Kapihan for Media last April 5, 2024 in main headquarter. Based on the Philippines Statistics Authority of 2022 Breast Cancer is one of the main reasons for the demise of a woman. Having breast cancer mostly for women but there are some cases will men can avail it. 

Effective March 30, 2024 the PhilHealth Z Benefits for Breast Cancer will now cover up to P 1.4 million from the previous package of 100,000. As of the moment with 21 contracted health facilities as of February 29, 2024.  From CAR is Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center; For Region 1 is Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center; For Region II is Cagayan Valley Medical Center; Region II are Angeles University Foundation Medical Center Inc. , Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital and Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research & Medical Center; National Capital Region are East Avenue Medical Center and UP- Philippine General General Hospital; Region IVA is Calamba Medical Center; Region IVB are Batangas Medical Center and  St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center, Inc.; Region V are Bicol Medical Center and Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center; Region VI are  Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and Western Visayas Medical Center; Region VII is Vicente Sotto Medical Center; Region X is Northern Mindanao Medical Center; Region XI are Davao Regional Medical Center and Southern Philippines Medical Center and Region XII is St. Elizabeth Hospital Inc. In Bangsamoro Autonomous Region ion Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Region 8 still no contracted health facilities. Hospital are encouraging to be contracted health facilities. The  Philhealth President clarified that for 110 million Filipino just to registered and all Filipino are member because of Universal Healthcare law all of us is eligible. “We hope that with PhilHealth’s enchanced  Z benefits for breast cancer, as well as the Konsulta Package which covers mammogram and ultrasound, Filipinos will be encouraged to undergo check ups and treatment, and more lives will b e saved. We believe that through this package, we will be able to reduce the financial burden and promote timely intervention that will lead to the improvement of outcomes and quality of life of the patient” Ledesma explained.
